August 2025

Hello,

Isn’t this weather amazing! We hope you’re having a great summer.

 Open House Trail

We’ve been busy getting organised for our collaboration with the IoM Creative Network this month. We’ve added a selection of houses to visit over the next two weekends to complement the Creative Network biannual Open Studios Trail and exhibition spaces.

And, with the support of the IoM Arts Council, we will be displaying pieces from the the IoM Arts Council Loan Collection to form an exhibition of sorts, spread out over the seven locations.

It all adds up to the 2025 Isle of Man Art + Architecture Festival and you can plan your Open House Trail and book a time slot for each of the houses via our eventbrite page:

The seven houses will be open to visit over the two weekends, two in Port St Mary on the Bank Holiday Weekend (23/ 24/ 25 August) and five more spread between Douglas and Dalby on the following weekend (20/ 31 August)

There are listings on the Eventbrite page and in the Creative Network Festival Guide. You can find the listings for the rest of the festival here.

There are plenty of places to visit so get out and about and see as much as you can!

SofA CPD

Next month, there’s another CPD event that you might be interested in.

“Sustainable Heating Solutions in Heritage Properties” will be on Friday 3rd September at 12.30 at Keel Dare at Nobles Hospital.

The talk will be by Adrian Fox, the Environmental + Sustainability Officer of the Anglican Church and it will highlight issues in relation to historic buildings, halls and homes and Net Zero.

That’s all for now - enjoy the rest of the summer and it’d be great to see you somewhere on the festival trail!
